Delridge crash sends 1 to hospital

(WSB photo)
Police are still on both sides of Delridge at Willow as they investigate the crash that sent a driver to the hospital and left his classic Cadillac up on the sidewalk. He was transported by private ambulance, so his injuries aren’t life-threatening. No tow truck on scene yet but traffic is getting through, except for pedestrians on the east side of Delridge. (Thanks to the person who texted about this – our hotline is 206-293-6302, text or voice, any time.)

beautiful caddy but its probably a 63-64 not a 59.. 59s are very distinct hopefully both driver and car are doing ok

Caddylover – the historical license plate said it was a ’59 … otherwise we don’t routinely mention the years of cars involved in crashes … just thought it was an interesting detail – but thank you! – TR

    Poor caddy.

I did a little google on the model years.  That 59 plate is the wrong model year.  Something is not right here.  It looks like a 64 Caddy from what I see.  It definitely is not a 59.  59’s had  airplane fins.  I speculate the driver has another Caddy somewhere.

Since I have no way of looking at the title, and I doubt the driver will turn up here in the comments because of the trip to the hospital, I’m just going to change it to “classic” Cadillac, which covers a multitude of model years. – Tracy

I’m not questioning your reporting.  I’m questioning the validity of the plate.  Who would put a wrong year on a classic car?

Wow. Hope the driver is ok. They are going to have to send two tow trucks and a mule for the land yacht Caddy.

WOW why does the year of the car matter, WSB can only go by what they “see”? We more should be hoping the person/s in the car (are) OK, they more than likely have family members that read the blog.

The license plate matteres because the car could be stolen or it could be registered illegally/fraudulently. If not, the owner needs to explain. It’s that simple. Good eye…

Well that (license plate) is the Polices job, this story was just reporting the accident and not for us the readers to judge if the driver was trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

well if it has collector plates..its only a one time reg fee and it dosnt matter what year the tabs are because tabs are not required!! so alot of collectors just do it for the small details so the plate isnt fraudulent!! perhaps the owner bought it this way or just has a thing for 59s now if its a personized plate thats a different story..

  • dsa January 24, 2016 (12:12 pm)

It has to be a personalized plate, probably even a collector one if you can combine them and no tab  required for collector that old.  It’s just a curious thing.  I’m sure the cops ran a plate and vin check.

It’s a 1963 Fleetwood, driven daily with over 300,000 miles. I know of the car and owner, a middle aged gentleman, and I hope he is okay.

Sorry, comment time is over.
