7:04 AM: Good morning! Nothing reported currently on routes in or from West Seattle and vicinity.

REMINDER – 2 WEEKEND CLOSURES: Highway 99 closes both ways from the Battery Street Tunnel north to Valley St. in lower Queen Anne next weekend, Friday night (August 21) to early Monday (August 24) – details and maps here. … On Sunday morning, Alki/Harbor Avenues will close for the Alki Beach 5K (9 am start, but parking restrictions start earlier that morning).

7:46 AM: If you’re headed toward Beacon Hill, note that SDOT is tracking a crash at Spokane/Columbian. No SFD callout so far, so apparently no injuries.

9:13 AM: “Late” commuters beware. Stalled vehicle on Northbound 99 just north of the stadiums – thanks to the texter (206-293-6302 any time!) who just reported it (saying it has “cones around it”) and the commenter – it has just now been mentioned on the scanner, too.

The motorcycle cop was pulling over cars for using the bus lane again today. Stop and go traffic had me stopped next to him when he tried to pull over an older white sedan with a male driver. Even though the police officer was standing in the middle of the lane the car seemed to not want to pull over. A few minutes later as traffic moved on and I was stopped on the 1st Ave exit ramp the white sedan came speeding down the ramp, honking his horn and yelling at people to move. We couldn’t because the light was red. I was terrified as I thought he was going to ram my car to try and get away from the cop as the white sedan was making all kinds of maneuvers trying to get out of there.

Bridge cop almost got run down by a white crown victoria, 2007 model year from the looks, this morning. Pretty scary. Driver got away.

Stalled vehicle blocking right hand lane on Northbound 99 right after the stadium entrance at 8:40. So much for lighter traffic and shorter commutes this summer…

Thanks. Just got a text about that and was adding to the narrative. I believe they are just now dispatching someone to it – unless what I’m hearing on NB 99 is a *different* stall (King St. is the cross they’re mentioning) … TR

Officer Cool Shades needs another officer on a motorcycle so one can go after any fleeing scofflaws. Wow. Never heard of that happening in all the years he has been writing tickets. Scary.

Was listening to the scanner as the Crown Vic was evading. Black Male, 20’s, doo rag, carrying loot. Dumped the car at 4th and Spokane subject ran North. They originally had it as a Chevy but corrected later.
