SATURDAY! 3-in-1 way to plug into Delridge neighborhood’s future

Saturday’s approaching, so you’re days away from a three-in-one way to share ideas for, and get information about, eastern West Seattle projects and plans. From the city:

Join us at the event to join your neighbors to:

*Provide direction on the North Delridge Action Plan (North of SW Elmgrove St.)
*Help design future multimodal improvements to Delridge Way
*Learn about Longfellow Creek Basin Natural Drainage Systems

Here’s what we have heard at previous Delridge meetings:

*Create more community and cultural gathering places
*More places to shop and eat
*Improve walking, biking, and transit connections
*Create more recreation and cultural programs

The Delridge Projects Workshop – which we mentioned 2 weeks ago along with a survey you should answer if you haven’t already – is set for 9:30 am-noon Saturday (June 6th) at Southwest Teen Life Center (2801 SW Thistle). Lots of background info, here.

The is a big opportunity to be heard by multiple sources if you want to see change in north and central Delridge.

    To SDOT,

please add frequent islands in the center lane of Delridge Way to decrease dangerous center lane passing and make it safer to use for all parties.

If possible decrease bottle necks on Delride by restoring right turn lanes in both directions on Delridge when it meets Orchard. Same at thistle northbound for Seatlh traffic.

To ACT Which is updating the North Delridge neighborhood plan, I’d like to see SPS work with Parks to add play structures and other upgrades to the ball fields just south of the Boren school/K-8 STEM (not likely to get enough support to pull off a matching fund effort due to complexity and working class family realities IMO). Push for Parks to create a master Plan for the WD Greenbelt -trail development, trail heads, Nature Center on Pigeon Point?

Sorry, comment time is over.
