West Seattle Crime Watch: Convicted rapist jailed for harassment, attempted officer-biting

ORIGINAL REPORT, 12:15 PM: New on SPD Blotter: A 52-year-old man arrested in North Delridge “after he menacingly harassed two women on the street, and tried to bite an officer as she took him into custody.” It all started in the 4000 block of 26th and ended in the 2600 block of SW Yancy, police say. Here’s the full story.

ADDED 12:24 PM: Picking up where the SPDB story left off – we’ve just looked up the suspect on the jail register. He remains behind bars; while his initial bail from last night’s booking shows on the register at $2,000, an online court docket shows that an increase to $50,000 was granted at his bail hearing this morning.

ADDED 12:40 PM: We’ve just learned more about the suspect and are identifying him as he is a registered sex offender – because of a rape conviction – Randy Gene Stark. In 2010, he made regional news for attempted child luring. He’s registered with a downtown address. (Photo from King County sex offender lookup website)

These are pretty much the only people I really have no tolerance for. How is an already convicted sex offender who attempted to lure a kid less than a year ago walking around right now? Disgusting.

ugh. Gross. glad he’s in jail. Hopefully he stays there.

Is medical castration an option in these cases? I mean, sheesh-look at this guys record! He won’t stop until something very significant stops him. If we are lucky, maybe one of us pretty ladies will be locked and loaded next time. We keep letting him out, so at some point he needs to have a serious consequence. I’m disgusted by the fact he’s a multiple offender and he’s clearly not being monitored very well.

What a disgusting record. If a person can’t be locked up indefinitely, continues to prey on and violate the innocent, why can’t we move on to neutering.

Isn’t time to stick this piece of dung into a cell, lock it, and throw away the key?

we just had someone move to the neighborhood a few months back. One of our neighbors was checking the sex offender website and found him. He is a level 3 offender.
Isn’t he supposed to tell his neighbors? Is there any information that goes out from the Department of Corrections?

All I can say is I have a very protective dog and I won’t intervene on your behalf.

Ditto Laura. My dog would have barked, growled and lunged at that guy if he’d tried to mess with me. In fact, he’s lucky he didn’t run into us when he was out frightening/terrorizing these women. We live just a few blocks from there and walk this route almost daily. Lock him up for a while please. This is way too close to home and frightening. I hope the victim’s nerves aren’t too frayed from this experience.

Sorry, comment time is over.
