West Seattle Crime Watch: 2 stolen cars to watch for

Both stolen in West Seattle within the past few days:

STOLEN CAR #1: 1996 dark green Acura, plate AGC7998, taken last night in Highland Park.

STOLEN CAR #2: 1998 teal Honda Civic, plate 201-VGJ, taken Wednesday morning or afternoon. This car’s owner tells us police told her of a rash of stolen Civics and Camrys this month.

If you see either car, please call 911.

I always tell civic owners to sell there car. They are great cars but the theft is ridiculous. I’ve had my stereo stolen (not sure why), my rims stolen, and the whole car twice. I had to sell it just for the pain and cost of dealing with theft. It was a 2001.

So my 2000 Honda Civic was stolen twice within a one year time frame after moving to Seattle 10 years ago. After the second time I finally followed the advice the police had given me and bought the Club. I have used it religiously ever since–I put it on every single time I get out of my car, and it’s never been stolen again. I still have it. I recommend trying the Club if you have a Civic and don’t want to sell it.

I own a Honda Civic and it is alarmed. No thefts in the 6 plus years I’ve had in WS.

My boyfriend’s 2005 F350 pickup (black, Harley Davidson) was stolen from the front of my house last night on the 9000 block of 36th Ave SW. Had mfr alarm system, huge diesel thing. Last saw it there at 12:30 this morning. We have reported it. No idea what to do next but wait… so bummed

Sorry to hear it. Do you have a photo? We write up stolen cars in separate Crime Watch reports so we can publish one about yours later if you e-mail us (editor@westseattleblog.com), photo or not. Once in a while readers do spot abandoned cars and have helped reunite folks with their vehicles … hope you get it back soon one way or another … Tracy

I watched guys dismantle a stolen civic this am on the 5400 block of 31st. Was on the phone with police who were able to arrest 4 of them. They were all teenagers who SPD said would end up being released today. If you see a dark green Nissan sentra older model with loud exhaust in your neighborhood keep a look out.

Im a FORMER criminal/burglar who has changed my life around…i dont mind saying that because I can help people with my knowledge and advice…so heres my 2 cents…the club is nice and all and would take a week to hack saw through BUT what some criminals are starting to realize is its not the club u have to cut, all you have to do is cut through the hard rubber/plastic steering wheel and the club comes right off..it would take me 10-15 secs to cut.the steering wheel with a hack saw…so the club is basically useless…hope that helps someone out there
