Something new to look forward to this summer: Seafair has announced the inaugural Seafair Northwest Paddling Championship for Saturday, August 1st, involving the top finishers from a series of five existing SUP (standup paddleboarding) races – and one of them is the Mountain to Sound Outfitters-presented Alki Paddling Challenge, which will happen the same day as the Seafair Pirates Landing on Alki – June 27th – raising the possibility of pirates tangling with paddleboarders.
