Question for Mayor Murray? Come to The Triangle on Saturday

Announced by the Department of Neighborhoodsdistrict coordinators – Mayor Ed Murray is making a quick conversation stop in West Seattle on Saturday (March 28), his second visit this month (first one was at the 34th District Democrats‘ meeting – here’s our coverage, with video). It’s a public event, 12:30-1 pm at Chaco Canyon Organic Café, northeast corner of 38th/Alaska.

Someone, please ask the Mayor if he would be comfortable visiting Alki Beach this summer, particularly on an active sunny summer weekend, perhaps to take in a new eatery or simply walk his dog or take in a sunset, either in the early evening hours or soon after the sun goes down?

I would, unfortunately I’m away on business.

The Mayor is also scheduled to be at West Seattle High School Tuesday, March 31st to ask for feedback on the proposed transportation levy “Move Seattle” (6 to 8 pm).

Thanks, David. None of the collateral I’ve seen on that mentions the mayor himself being at those meetings – and it’s not mentioned on the website for them – but if they’ve told you that, that’s good to hear.

If everyone with a beef showed up, would a half-hour “show the flag” stop do it? I’d like to think there was a longer public gripe session held when folks weren’t working, or had just hadn’t gotten off a full day of doing so. If the Mayor had to spend 1-2 hours on a weekend, City payroll could account for this sort of thing.

I am perfectly willing to tell the Mayor what I think about the Bridging Even a Bigger Gap Levy, but 30 minutes seems gratuitous. How many people will be here demanding a minute with the decidedly West Seattle focused Mayor?

    Nah…let’s just form a task force :(

Ohhh… I was hoping he was coming to The Triangle (Pub) in White Center. Dang it! I’m not going to that part of West Seattle. Too expensive.
