We’re stuck north bound on Delridge, near Skylark, trying to get on the lower bridge. We’ve moved about 4 blocks in the last 15 minutes

Thanks for the updates. Sue- the low bridge was “open” for marine traffic, per Twitter, until a few minutes ago, maybe that was it.

Construction on Orchard is backed up to Home Depot. Holden is backed up from 16th down the hill on 20th. Not the way to go today.

WS bridge was far more painful than usual at 7:15

I was stuck in the same mess on north Delridge trying to approach the low bridge, the yellow caution light to use the high bridge was not on. I know marine traffic has priority but they should alert car traffic to divert. Not to mention the bridge did not appear to be raised.

trickycoolj- what do you mean when you say construction on orchard was back up to home depot? I thought home depot was at Delridge and Orchard/ Sylvan. we don’t usually go that way but yes the construction back ups in that area this morning were a pain. The west bound traffic on Orchard was backed up to 16th it seemed. Only one lane. ugh. and people going eastbound from Sylvan continued through the light even though they had no-where to go, blocking the northbound traffic on Delridge.

We take Delridge too and have noticed that once you get past Avalon, it’s free and clear (if there’s no boat traffic.) We saw no boats when we crossed the lower bridge around 7:55.

I have a suspicion that the lights at Genessee and Avalon are so close that getting the timing right is a challenge, resulting in traffic.

Also, if you’re cutting through on 26th to avoid the Delridge backup, it’s a Neighborhood Greenway with a speed limit of 20 mph; not 40 mph.

Sylvan/orchard was backed up east bound to Home Depot at 7:30. Not sure which name goes on which piece in that triangle. But the flagger doesn’t time with the light so you go forward and stop 4 car lengths across Delridge and wait. While waiting on Monday the flagger got mad at a metro bus and proceeded to stop the bus and got in a yelling match with the driver. I started going down Delridge to that hairpin hill that is 21/Webster/20/Holden (can we not change names every time there is a bend in a street??) and that was backed up 5 blocks from the fire station around the first bend at the top of the hill. That construction is a nightmare and I wish that the number of lanes through there would be reported in the daily traffic. This is my main trip to work. My commute time has doubled from the work. Its incredibly frustrating that construction of a rain garden is causing this much commute havok.

Sorry, comment time is over.
