New Little Free Library now ‘open’ at Morgan Junction Park

The long-planned Little Free Library is now in place in Morgan Junction Park, reports Cindi Barker from the Morgan Community Association: “Thanks go to Joe Paar, Morgan resident; Tyler Jamison of Village Builders; Seattle Parks staff; and the Friends of Morgan Junction Park for getting this installed!” As shown in the photo, you can see it right next to the information kiosk at the park, which is at 6413 California SW. If you’re not familiar with the concept, as explained on the official LFL site, it’s “a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share.”

I saw the box as we rode by on Saturday. Given the complex nature of local residents it will be interesting to see how long it last.

“Complex nature of local residents” Wow the pc jargon filled world we now live in. When you have to worry about offending vagrants/drunks & or other blog readers something is definitely wrong. Anywho great idea, also hope it lasts!

Excellent! Was sorry to see the door ripped off of the one on 48th leading down to Lowman Beach this weekend. (just below Graham St)

    Punks gotta punk, I guess.

I have some books I’ll be sharing soon. Love these!

“The complext nature of local residents”… that’s some dog whistle classism coming straight out of West Seattle for ya.

Awesome! We would be glad to help fill this LFL on a regular basis. If anybody is willing to come by Pegasus Book Exchange and pick the books up, we have plenty of good titles we would give away for free. Great location for one! Thanks everybody.

cj…it’s sad that that thought even has to enter our mind.It did mine, too. I think these are wonderful, and it’s a great location, but there is an element of certain people who just don’t give a damn, and have no respect for things. I hope we’re both wrong.

Thanks to everyone for adding books. There’s already been a large turnover in the collection. We’ve heard a lot of excited conversation from all ages about what they’re going to donate next.
