West Seattle restaurants: Pizzeria 22 closing tomorrow in memory of business partner’s son

We received this from Pizzeria 22 proprietor Cary Kemp:

It is with great sadness that I inform you that my business partner at Pizzeria 22, Mike McConnell, has lost his son to a drug overdose. In memory of Andrew McConnell, Pizzeria 22, all Caffe Vita’s, and Via Tribunali’s will be closed on Tuesday, January 13th. Andrew was a gifted young man with extraordinary talents and will be greatly missed.

You can read about Andrew McConnell in his obituary on Legacy.com.

Im so sorry to hear this. This breaks my heart. We almost lost someone two months ago from the same thing. She is only 22. I will be praying for everyone involved.

This is so very sad, my deepest condolences to Andrew’s family and friends. A college classmate of my son’s (a sophomore) died last week of the same horrific cause. It seems that heroin is becoming more and more popular and accessible and it is just heartbreaking to read of so many unnecessary deaths of beautiful and talented people. RIP.
