Police response in Upper Morgan

Thanks to everyone who messaged us about a sizable police response this past hour near 39th and Morgan. Police had a report of what they described as a troubled person with a knife inside a house, and someone was concerned enough to call 911. In the end, police say the situation was defused and the person was taken into custody without anyone having been hurt.

Glad to hear it was diffused. I live down the block and wondered what the big police response was for.

WSB did you ever find out what happened 1/1 around 23-21st and Roxbury? crazy amount of police presence and dogs looking for someone.

Quick question, was the person a resident of the house?

Don’t know. But again, there was no indication a crime had been committed, so it wasn’t, for example, an intruder.

Kudos to the police for skillfully defusing this situation. So glad no one was injured or worse.

There were 6-7 police cars there when I came by around 5:45pm. That is a sizable response to one person with a knife. Hopefully that means it was a relatively quiet night around the rest of West Seattle.

Sorry, comment time is over.
