Car hits tree on Sylvan Way; driver unhurt

If you’ve driven Sylvan Way east of High Point this evening, you might have noticed the car crumpled into a tree on the south side of the street. Looks bad, but police told us at the scene that the driver was not hurt.

Seems likes there are quite a few accidents on Sylvan Way.

There are…likely due to it having several deceptive curves on a fairly steep downhill. I take it slow down that hill and more often than not someone rides my ass as I do…someone who would likely be taking at least one of those curves at an unsafe speed.

Terrible. Do you know the status of the pedestrians?

Didn’t know pedestrians were involved – wasn’t mentioned when we got to the scene, which was fairly late in the aftermath, and the only reason we mentioned it is because the wreckage LOOKED bad, and we thought some who passed it might be wondering. I’ll ask SFD.

People drive like morons on this road. It is perfectly easy to navigate if you are going the speed limit! They should install speed cameras at that point, would be huge revenue for the city.

It should be noted, we have no information on the cause, whether the car’s driver is suspected to have done something in error, or had to swerve to avoid someone or something … The only thing I *have* been able to confirm, just now from SFD, is that nobody was hurt – they were canceled before they even arrived – so if any pedestrians (as suggested above) had anything to do with it, they weren’t hurt either. – TR
