Two traffic alerts for next week: SSV & VP

Looking ahead to next week, two traffic alerts that might give you cause to plan ahead:

SPOKANE STREET VIADUCT: Just announced by SDOT:

Roadway Structures Crews from the Seattle Department of Transportation will close the left-hand, eastbound lane on the Spokane Street Viaduct from Fourth Avenue South to First Avenue South on October 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting. The closure will allow crews to make pavement repairs on the viaduct.

VICE PRESIDENTIAL VISIT: VP Joe Biden’s still on for a visit to Seattle next week, on Thursday (October 9). The full schedule hasn’t been announced but we do know he’s expected at a noon fundraising event for U.S. Senate candidates at the Convention Center downtown.

Thanks for the heads-up on the VP.

    .

I’ve been hearing it on the TV News all day, but as with much of what’s broadcast, I don’t pay the greatest attention to, being that I’m usually surfing the net and such, so hadn’t caught the day/time.

    .

I have an appointment up at Harborview at 2:30 that day, and although the bus does not go into downtown proper, it crosses I-5 on Albro, at the north end of Boeing Field.

    .

When the President was in town a couple months ago, my bus heading back Home after my early evening appointment, had to wait on Swift, just before turning onto Albro, until the Motorcade passed.

    .

No big deal, either then or upcoming, just as long as I know to expect it, and can plan accordingly.

    .

    Mike

Sorry, comment time is over.
