Seattle Symphony, here, free! Friday concert also features WS Community Orchestra

In case you missed the mention when the West Seattle Community Orchestras‘ new season started – tomorrow night at Chief Sealth International High School, some of their musicians will be featured in the first Seattle Symphony community performance this fall – free admission! Here’s the lineup and program for the 7 pm concert:

Christina Ding is a high-school student at the International School in Bellevue. She is currently a student of Simon James and piano collaborator Hiro David. In 2014 she won second place in the Music Teachers National Association Junior Composition Competition. She was also selected for the Seattle Symphony’s Young Composers Workshop, during which her composition was premiered by members of the Symphony. For the past two summers she has attended the Aspen Music Festival and School as a violin student.

    The close to one hour performance was a wonderful way to get away from all the hassles of life, and enjoy wonderful music. … The first part of the performance also included WSCO participants(West Seattle Community Orchestra.

    I definitely have this on my calendar for next year!
