Summer Concerts at Hiawatha this Thursday: Caspar Babypants

(WSB photo from 2011 Hiawatha show)
The most popular performer ever at Summer Concerts at Hiawatha returns to the Admiral Neighborhood Association-sponsored series this week – Caspar Babypants, the West Seattle-based kiddie-rock star, takes the stage at 6:30 pm Thursday (July 31st). Via his website, he’s promising “a 90-minute show full of every hit you can sing!” as well as a chance to buy advance copies of the new CB album “Rise and Shine!” The concert itself is free – come early, bring your own chair/blanket, picnic dinner if you feel like it, and get ready to have a great time.

Enough with the Caspar Babypants. I’m sick to death of him, and I’ve never seen him perform. I’m sick of him just from all the press he gets here. I don’t have kids. I’m an old codger. I rest my case.

Rocky, you should go! It’s not really just kid music and it’s rather catchy. (Trust me! And we weren’t even little-kid-music fans when our kid was little, nor was he.) Also, this is only the second Caspar Babypants event/mention all year – first was his signing event at Easy Street on Record Store Day, then when he was announced for this series. Before that, 10 months ago, when local students joined him during a radio appearance. – TR

Caspar is a local guy who gives lots of free concerts and loves West Seattle. Totally undeserving of anyone’s disdain. Get a grip!

Sorry, comment time is over.
