Helicopter over Fauntleroy/Gatewood: Tour company

In case you also noticed the small yellow helicopter circling/hovering over Gatewood/Upper Fauntleroy (almost directly over WSB HQ for a while, so we grabbed a bit of video), thanks to Shannon for noting in a Twitter discussion that it was a tour-company helicopter. They had tele cameras and were taking pictures around thistle and 37th. Seemed odd place for a tour in ws neighborhood

Co-publisher Patrick is just back from the WSHS graduation at SW Athletic Complex and says the chopper buzzed the ceremony, too. So if you see it back around 7 – that’s when Sealth is graduating, same stadium.

The chopper was very low for being over a residential area – probably no more than 150 meters off the ground, which would be pretty close to the 500 feet AGL that I think the FAA allows over congested areas. I would like to know which tour company is running these flights, so we could contact them about possibly flying a bit higher out of courtesy to the local homeowners.

Follow the link in the story; that’s the company. Its name was on the chopper – not close enough for me to see without binoculars, but a twitter follower pointed it out, and the subsequent photo sent by a Facebook follower verified. I have sent the company e-mail asking what the circumstances were over here, as we don’t seem to be on any of their regular routes, and there was a long period of hovering.

great, just what we need, more helicopter noise pollution based on someones amusement. They were probably scouting swaths of single family homes they want to target for development. Since having a lot with a yard is now considered ” hogging prime real estate”.

They hovered right over the house on and off for 15 minutes.
That was way too low and TOO LOUD for a residential area.
Police looking for someone in Lincoln Park…okay.
Tour company invading our privacy….I DON’T THINK SO!!!

Would you share the email address since it’s not on their site?
    Thanks

You have to follow the links to the company that owns the tour service.

Sorry, comment time is over.
