Another Saturday reminder: Dakota Place Park cleanup

Lots going on tomorrow, as you’ll see if you take an advance look at the WSB West Seattle Event Calendar. One spotlight event to mention again in advance: Spring cleanup time at Dakota Place Park, home to the city-landmark former substation, soon to get extra space to the north. Join community volunteers 10 am-noon tomorrow. More details here, including a reminder to bring (and label) tools!

Dakota Place Park is a facility that the Seattle Parks and Recreation rents out for $225.00 for three hours, to $400.00 for 5 hours. Shouldn’t they be responsible to maintain the grounds?

Alki charges to rent the Bathhouse but there are still volunteer beach cleanups. Lincoln Park has rental fees for some of its facilities but also has volunteers helping to remove invasives, etc. Volunteer events are supplements to what Parks is able to do, not replacements for it.

Sorry, comment time is over.
