Ready to rock again tomorrow: West Seattle Rock & Gem Show

April 26, 2014 at 9:54 pm | In Fun stuff to do, West Seattle news | 3 Comments

This year’s West Seattle Rock Club show has not one, but two silent auctions – including the one above, just for kids. Admission to the show, which started today and continues tomorrow, is free, with members displaying their collections and showing some of the skills it takes to turn a rock or gem into a shining collection piece.

You’ll also find vendors selling gems, minerals, tools, and jewelry:

More demonstrations and hands-on activities for all ages, plus refreshments, all happening again tomorrow in the Masonic Center at 40th and Edmunds, 10 am-5 pm.

  1. Geez Marie, how many times do I have to tell you, they’re minerals not rocks.

  2. My son loved it! He was so excited winning the auction for his pyrite.

Only way we knew it was happening, was because of the WSB! Thanks again for such a great source of information.

  3. PDH, congrats to your son! Pyrite was called “fool’s gold” when I was a kid (maybe it still is?) and I cherished a chunk I got during a childhood visit to Calico Ghost Town in California. And we are always glad to hear that the calendar/daily previews are helpful … TR
