Happy? No, of course not, because why aren't ALL of them be locked up there forever? Well ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately that's because of a little thing called due process of law. Um, no - the single most effective means of protecting your child is not letting these monsters out of prison! It is NOT a child's responsibility to manage an adult's actions - especially criminals like these. We safeguard our kids to the fullest, but a scared, intimidated kid won't remember a frikkin' checklist of what to do or not to do. Why, why, why do we coddle criminals of this nature? Never mind - it'll become some flame war and I don't want that. I'm just so disappointed we aren't fighting harder to get these predators away from society in some way. I so hate we've become an SO dumping ground in West Seattle, especially so close to our schools. “The single most effective means of protecting your child is communication with your child.”

I did a lot of research at the time. The info on the registered sex offender site about the offender was vague and I wanted more details. There is a law that enables neighbors etc to get detailed info about the crime, the offenders adherence to mandatory monitoring etc. they also provided information for safety in regards to the offender. I had to dig pretty deep to finds the contacts for my inquiry but it was so helpful to me. About 6 yrs ago a level 2 sex offender moved next door to me and my 4 yo son. What's the point of the registry if it's inaccurate? Makes me wonder how many might live in HP without SHA/HP's knowledge. Other HP res, I was wondering the exact same thing. They apparently looked into both guys who have registered addresses in HP and they say neither of them live there. Good on one hand, but giving false address to the state is an entirely different issue. If they're not living there, where ARE they living?? At least they can keep an eye on them when they (and we) know where they live, who they are and what they look like. That school will reopen in September. He is living in a neighborhood and the adjacent streets with lots of kids. This is very unfortunate. We have to change the legislatures mind on sex offenders.
