9:57 PM: Both games are over now, and both of West Seattle High School‘s varsity basketball teams won tonight against host Chief Sealth International High School – girls 65-31, boys 62-46.

First, the girls’ matchup, coached by WSHS’s Sonya Elliott and Sealth’s Katie Jo Maris:

Their teams had the first varsity battle of the night.

Sealth’s O’shae Walker, with 11 points, and WSHS’s Lexi Ioane, with 24, were their respective teams’ top scorers on the night.

WSHS took an early lead and never looked back.

The Wildcats’ next game is Wednesday night on the road against Seattle Prep; that same night, the Sealth girls play Lakeside at home.

From the boys’ game:

DeAndre Love (#22 in photo above, with Sealth’s #32 Ahmed Mohamed) was top scorer for the Wildcats with 22 points. For Sealth, Khaleef Griffin led the scoring with 12 points.

Next, the WSHS boys play at Seattle Prep Tuesday night; the Sealth boys host Lakeside that same night. The next scheduled WSHS-CSIHS games are at the end of this month, boys on Tuesday the 28th and girls on Wednesday the 29th.
