Free at noon? In West Seattle or able to get back here? Liz Latham invites you to be part of this gesture of gratitude at the Junction post office:

Attention, West Seattleites!!!!

I have just organized a flash mob and you are all invited to the West Seattle Post office where at noon today we will thank our postal workers and give them pizza for all their hard work and efforts this holiday season. We are going to sing the song FOR YOU ARE JOLLY GOOD POSTAL WORKERS to the Tune of for He’s a Jolly Good Fellow. Here’s the lyrics:

NOTE: WE ARE GOING TO SING THIS TWO TIMES IN A ROW AT LEAST…

For You are jolly good postal workers,
for you are jolly good postal workers,
for you are jolly good postal workers
we thank you for all you have done,
we thank you for all you have done,
we thank you for all you have done,
for you are jolly good postal workers,
we thank you for all you have done!

Then we end it by shouting the words, “Thank you West Seattle Postal workers for all you have done!

  1. I love this! I wish that I had been there to see it! Will there be a video posted later that shares this bit of goodness?

  2. Yes, we covered it. Had to rush right out to something afterward but we won’t be out of HQ too long…

  3. Thank you to all the singers who came out and sang today to the postal workers. I think they were really grateful and “felt the love” from their community. One postal worker said, “We really needed this, thank you.”

If you couldn’t make it today, next time you go to the post office, please tell your postal worker, “thanks for all you have done this month.”
    Peace and blessings,
    Liz Latham

  4. Love the US Post Office all year around;)
A 2006 law is draining $5 Billion a year from PO revenue (50 years of pensions in 10) was passed. How would you like a mortgage like that?

I am afraid that if the PO goes private we will have more delivery like over Christmas, and friends who live far out of their town are worried they will have to drive in to pick their mail
Love and save the PO, they do good work:)
