Wednesday night laughs in West Seattle: Mona Concepcion & friends

Hard to find comedy in West Seattle’s nightlife – but this Wednesday (September 18) will be an oasis of laughter at Feedback Lounge (WSB sponsor) with six comics on one bill – headlined by West Seattle’s own Mona Concepcion. The “Fantasy Island” theme is inspired at least in part by Mona hailing from Saipan, the reason she describes herself as “the world’s only female Chamorro comedian.” Long before she became a standup comedian, she was a funny writer, and her blog-format website kirida.com was a mainstay on the old WSB “blogroll” page. Show’s free, and it starts at 8 pm Wednesday.

Yes, Jan! Cait is great! If you think she’s hilarious in the forum, check her out on stage! Jeffrey Robert is another West Seattleite and also hosted and produced the Morning Glory drag queen variety show at Skylark. West Seattle is full of funny people and I am very happy to be performing with a few of the finest!

Thanks for the shout out, Jan! Hope to see some of my WSB friends there to put faces to names and names to handles :)

We’ve known Mona for, like, forever, but did not know you are a standup too, Cait. This is sounding potentially epic.

We need more comedy in West Seattle. There was an open mic every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at the Benbow Room (back of the Heartland Cafe in Admiral) but it was recently shut down.

I’ve seen most of these people perform around town at some point, they’re all funny – go watch!

not quite W.S. but Bogarts down on Airport Way, formerly Goldies, is having a pretty darn god monday night comedy thing.
I’ll be there at the Feedbag for wed night laughing laughs.

TR! I hope we get to see you there :)

Yes! Bogarts is also great! It’s a really fun room for both comics and audiences. Plus the nachos come out on a platter that looks like a spaceship.

This show IS going to be epic! And Dan Clayton, another West Seattle comedian (and the host of the sadly now deceased Open Mic at Benbow) has been added to the line-up (replacing Monica Nevi who will be unable to make it). Hope to see you all there. Let’s make West Seattle the Comedy Center of the PNW!

Sorry, comment time is over.
