I lived across the street from Don for almost 20 years and our neighborhood was a better place because of him. One of our other neighbors once referred to him as the boss of the neighborhood. And a good boss he was – always there if you needed a hand, always a gentleman, watched out for your kids, could fix anything and was always a good resource for all things home owner-ish, and despite being ill for several years, was always upbeat and busy with one project or another.
We’ll miss you Don. Our neighborhood will be a lesser place in your absence. And thank you for always being there when we needed you.

I met Don through my father-in-law who managed the White Center Liquor Store. Don became his third son, and was nicknamed “Junior”, you could find the two of them discussing am array of topics at the kitchen table over a glass of Scotch which they both enjoyed.
Five years ago, deciding to take up golf again, I ran into Don at Puetz Golf. He offered to play, and we have many times since, starting a relationship that became a good friendship.
Every time we played, the subject always turned to his daughter, Alexa, a proud Dad he was.
My family extends the deepest sympathy to Kris and Alexa in their loss.
    He will be greatly missed.

Sorry, comment time is over.
