Anybody up for a weekday walk? New group starting Friday

Looking for someone to go walking with? Three West Seattle women invite you to join them this Friday for the first of what they hope will be weekly walks – at least for a month, and then they’ll see how things have been going. The invitation is simple:

Walk with us! This Friday [May 24], 8:00 am, meet at south goalpost at Hiawatha soccer field. Walk for 20 minutes with us and bring your dog, friends – anyone welcome! Walk longer with some of us, or less …. it is all fine!

Questions? Call Carol at 206-938-4204. No RSVP needed, though – just show up. Hiawatha is at 2700 California SW.

This weekday walk idea is terrific. It also may dovetail with a new volunteer walking-tour committee of the Southwest Seattle Historical Society, which is planning similar walks this summer. The third meeting of this group will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at Uptown Espresso in the Junction. Please feel free to attend and join committee members Mark, Debra, Mollie and others plan a great series of tours. If you would like more information, please e-mail me by clicking my name. Thanks.

    Hi,
I’m part of that Southwest Seattle Historical Society committee putting together historical walking tours of various parts of West Seattle. Actually Clay wasn’t aware that tonight’s meeting will be down at Alki, where we’ll be walking around, checking out potential sites to highlight on a tour. If you’d like to join us, we’re meeting this evening at 6:30 pm at the Denny Party memorial obelisk. If you’d like to help out with the tour committee but can’t come this evening, please email Clay Eals. (his email link is in a comment above). –Debra Alderman
