4:45 PM: Sizable response to 12th and Cambridge (map) right now, where two cars are reported to have crashed, with one on its roof. There’s nobody trapped, per scanner, so they’ve scaled back what was a major “heavy rescue” response. More to come.

5:15 PM: A fast-responding tow truck already has righted the flipped pickup truck, reports WSB contributing photojournalist Christopher Boffoli, who has also learned at the scene that no one was hurt.

  1. hmmm, I wonder how fast one has to be going on a side street to actually roll a Ford Ranger?

  2. Smokeycretin9,
Don’t know about this accident, but it doesn’t take much to roll any vehicle. Once saw a minivan, sideswiped by a passing truck, literally roll all the way over while stopped dead still at an intersection (4th Ave S & Spokane St). Just glad in this instance no one was badly hurt.

  3. What the hell’s going on in Highland Park? Seems every time I look at WSB some craziness is going on?

  5. I live around this block and there seems to always be accidents and traffic problems there. Needs stop signs!!!

  6. I will bet you 15 cents the dude who rolled that mini truck does not have liability insurance.

Looks like a new model, say, 1983.

TR, any news on the insurance status?

  8. One can surmise that regardless of *how fast* you are going, hitting a car hard enough to roll it is TOO FAST.

You see, you would actually have to stop and give right of way before moving on, which would require one to drive at a safe speed!
EVERYday, I drive my street, I have to brake for someone running the yield signs; it seems to be an ailment around here.
Thankfully no one was hurt and lessons were learned!

  9. This on my street, there are accidents there at least three times a year. There needs to be round-about or something.

  10. I am always a little bit paranoid approaching that intersection. It is hard to see westbound traffic coming up Cambridge due to the slope.

  11. I grew up on the intersection of 10th Ave SW and SW Elmgrove and car accidents were a common occurance. My mom and I looked into what it would take to get a roundabout up and it was a ridiculous process back then and since sometimes the accidents go unreported that doesn’t help build a strong case to get a roundabout installed. I put a link to the website however if more people are interested in looking at the traffic circle program.
