The fact that the premise of, “…no child should lack access to clean drinking water and sanitation,” isn’t already a given in our city is a very sad commentary.

I have noticed, on many occasions, families with children buying large amounts of water at the grocery store – and not the fancy stuff, just the gallon jugs of drinking water. I wonder if it was because their water was shut off?

But what they really need to look into is SPU’s reconnection charges after getting the water shut off. I think it’s a few hundred bucks, on top of the charge to shut it off in the first place.
