I agree with W, and more so, same as every other building of late. Developers and architects are looking to maximize square footage and profits, it seems to me, not fit into the neighborhood in any way. Some day the infrastructure will come?

Is it just me, or are the avalon projects just the same building twice?

I feel for the home owners behind the Avalon projects as their property values and lives will be greatly impacted by this build up do to traffic,noise,parking,views,garbage…. This area of West Seattle is being built up quicker than any other area in the city except for downtown. To bad we don’t have a road system in,out and around the area to support it.

Thanks, DTK. Every development in the pipeline now – double-digit unit count or more – is apartments, not condos. The market for the latter crashed more than five years ago. However, for those interested in units that’ll be available for purchase – the townhouse-building business has certainly perked up, as we’ve also been reporting – I’ve happened on a couple more “rowhouse” projects since our last update on a few just a week or two ago. – TR

I heard from a local realtor yesterday that the owner of the Ca/42nd/Ak project recently passed and at this point it’s only a delay.
