These project annoucements totally depress me. We must have at least one pharmacy on every corner already, and nearly that many grocery store options (while the folks along the Delridge corridor go without any of those things & actually NEED them).
.
We don't need more sky high apartment/condo structures either. Perfectly good smaller buildings are being torn down to build super structures with retail space below that will turn over businesses with revolving door rapidity. More people, more chains & less uniqueness to our little corner of the city.
.
There seems to be no damn sense in the planning of this stuff in Seattle. No plan for parking, no plan for dedicated (ie safe!) bike paths, no plan for public transportation and no plan for park/green space to counter all the UGLY that comes with so much metal, glass and concrete.
.
Goodbye charm, hello more gridlock. Sigh.

And how do they expect to accommodate 370 persons with an already clogged system? It takes me almost an hour to get to work now, verses 1/2 hour three years ago. You can't just keep building without also creating new transportation infrastructure. It's ridiculous.
