West Seattle Crime Watch: 7-11 incident; stolen van
March 2, 2013 at 11:51 pm | In Crime, West Seattle news | 7 CommentsTwo West Seattle Crime Watch reports:
First, happening right now, police have taken someone into custody from a Metro bus stopped in Fauntleroy, after an incident at the 35th/Barton 7-11. We’re not clear from scanner reports whether the store was robbed or the clerk assaulted by an armed person, or both; we’re following up. (Sunday morning note: Official information isn’t available yet, but one commenter offers a report.)
Also in Crime Watch, a stolen vehicle to watch for: Tod says his work van, white and bearing the company name Leibold Communications on its door, with a ladder rack on its roof, was stolen from Fauntleroy/Brandon last night. Call 911 if you see it.

Won’t be frequenting that 7-11 any time soon. I’m so sick of these thugs making me afraid to leave my house at night. I live right down the street from this store. If you live in the neighborhood, please come to the Roxhill/Arbor Heights community meeting this week. It’s time to act!

The store was not robbed nor did the adult male show a weapon. The adult male did shove the clerk after a verbal dispute. The clerk and one witness, who didn’t stick around, stated that the adult male threatened that he had a gun. PD did an excellent job of responding and catching the adult male after he fled via public transportation.

The overnight lieutenant wasn’t on last night, so we couldn’t verify, and won’t be able to until tomorrow; the only reason we mentioned it is because, especially where the bus was stopped near the north end of Lincoln Park, it was at least briefly quite the scene – one witness there mentioned, in a later e-mail to us, five police cars, and that usually brings in “what’s going on?” inquiries. Glad to hear the clerk was not hurt – the 911 log did not ever show a dispatch, as would invariably be the case if someone DID get hurt. – TR
