I’m a little surprised they didn’t catch the guy. We witnessed part of the crime and told the 911 operator that he was walking briskly toward Fauntleroy (not running). When police arrived we noticed they drove around JS Safeway but did not observe any search toward the direction we saw the guy walking. The police never called us back with questions either. I don’t know what the search involved so I don’t want to be overly critical. Just seemed the response was not what I would have expected for an armed robber attacking a women. I’ve definitely noticed an uptick in suspicious activity lately and apparent drug deals.

It would be great to have the cops back on the walking path in the Junction including the Admiral Area. Seems when we had the two guys less pan handling went on, less “extra’s” were hanging out. I loved that they worked different hours so you never really knew when they would be there.

Smitty, it’s not being defensive, it’s having pride in your neighborhood, and pride in all of the neighborhoods in your community.

Considering the unfortunate fact that some readers may be influenced by negative comments they read, especially the comments that are uneducated, and/or over-reactionary, I think it’s highly understandable that folks in these neighborhoods may be offended when exaggerated misconceptions are spread.

I’ve was born and raised in W.S.(1953) I Believe the excellent reporting and coverage of all the crimes being committed now – makes the populace
more aware of what’s happening around them. W.S. had crimes in the 50′s, 60′s (does anybody
remember the police car on fire on Admiral and 62nd s.w. during the riots on Alki in the middle/late 60′s?)Communication is bringing awareness of these crimes to us, and I’m glad for it. In the 60′s,70′s,80′s, 90,s,hell, even into 2000′s we only had T.V. and the Stations could only tell us “high priority situations. Being aware is better than having our heads in the sand. So, thanks to WSB and to all who comment. And this bashing of other communities should stop.

Can you all just shut up and stop acting like children? Who cares about where there’s more crime? You should focus your energy into preventing it and catching these evil doers. What I would like to know is if there’s a better description of the perp? A black man with a ski mask could be anyone. It would be nice to have more information, so we don’t have to walk around in fear of all black men.
