West Seattle Crime Watch: 2 more Friday street robberies; lewdness alert

While there’s no update on the armed street robbery we reported last night in the 28th/Adams area of North Delridge, SPD Blotter has published summaries of two others from last night – one in the Admiral area, another one in North Delridge. In the first case, the victims and suspects were all juveniles – 3 victims, 4 robbers, around 9 pm in the 2600 block of California SW – here’s the summary. In the second, a man walking in the 4800 block of Delridge Way just before 11 pm, after leaving what police describe as a “large party,” was held up; police found the suspect, and the items he stole, by going back to the party. Here’s that summary.

Also, a reader report of a man who she says was behaving lewdly – not a complete flasher but seemingly on the verge – on Marine View Drive this afternoon between Roxbury and 104th (map). She described him as “seemingly Latino or Middle Eastern with facial hair, probably in his 30s” and says he was “walking along with his shirt rolled up and the top of his pubic region exposed,” and after they passed, pulled his pants further down to expose more of his backside. She says she tried calling the non-emergency police line but gave up after being bounced around. As we told her, police advise that you call 911 in most cases, including something like this; the dispatchers are the same and will route you if need be.

wth? kids caught in armed robberies, and released?

I dont understand released to parents then out the door to pull knives and guns again. 20 years in the big house.

Hopefully soon we’ll have video to catch them in the act. No problem with cameras here…if you’re not a hoodlum then what’s to fear?

The marine view drive guy… I see him walking up MVD almost every weekend. I saw him today as the post describes.

How would cameras have helped Steve? They caught everyone involved. The fact that they were then released is almost enough to encourage vigilantism, but the police did find them just fine.

I think I saw the MVD guy, too, sometime last week – late afternoon, heading up the hill (southbound.) He appeared very thin and his pants were hanging way down almost exposing his rear. Almost seemed like he was pulling them down further as we drove by.

I have to agree with Diane! Why were they released to their parents and now arrested for robbery with a deadly weapon? What lesson was learned? If they were adults would they have been just given a ride home? “pending further investigations?”

Yes, adult suspects are sometimes released, too. Charges still might be eventually filed. There are a multitude of circumstances which can lead to suspects not being booked into jail (or in this case, juvenile detention), but it does not necessarily mean they are off the hook. I won’t be able to find out more about this one until Tuesday unless the full report appears online sooner, which is unlikely – those sometimes take a week – TR

We might have the same guy (exposer) walking down our street every evening into Fauntleroy park. Fits the description. And, have had a problem with exposure on our street, too.

Crimes without immediate consequence, pending guilt, these kid could have gotten shot.

The Admiral District crime looks to have been very near the corner of Admiral and California. We have seen kids (teens) loitering in that area, sometimes causing trouble. The combination of the 7-11 and gas station mini-mart parking lots seem to be a magnet.

Welcome to Washington and the Seattle court system. Just like fishing catch and release, over and over Easiest on criminals in the nation, that is why they come and stay.

Seen MVD exposed bum guy multiple times, always headed uphill. Not an accidental “sagging” as the trend is with kids, clearly purposeful and without doubt indecent.

Sorry, comment time is over.
