TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Tuesday on the move

(“Live” cam looking at the eastbound West Seattle Bridge; more cams here)
Nothing out of the ordinary reported so far this Tuesday. Remember that it’s the second day of the southbound 99 constriction south of the West Seattle Bridge, as the “Timber Bridge” rebuild gets under way – here’s what we found on yesterday’s PM commute. And looking ahead, remember we have two sets of closures this weekend – Delridge/Trenton intersection for repaving (which starts with the closure of a section of Trenton on Thursday), and two closure periods for the Alaskan Way Viaduct/99 between the WS Bridge and Battery Street Tunnel – all day Saturday, then again Sunday morning.

Accident on Adm. Hill, southbound. (Downhill).

What a difference between Monday and Tuesday. We came across WSB yesterday at 8 a.m. without a slowdown. Today we left earlier and have sat on bridge 20 minutes and we’re not at midspan yet.

Thanks for the reminder about the viaduct!

Yeah, I have to totally disagree with the “nothing out of the ordinary” description. Reading that, I made the mistake of getting gas before heading out. Took me 30 minutes longer to get to work than it did yesterday or any day last week.

Until and unless we hear from folks about traffic, “nothing out of the ordinary” means no crashes, stalls, etc. reported – and as of 7:30, that’s where it stood.

    “Good times.”

A contractor is out diggin’ up Admiral Way again, the uphill lanes from the bridge. Expect crawling traffic tonight, up the one uphill lane.

Sorry, comment time is over.
