Friday has usually been a lighter traffic day, even pre-rapid ride, but yes metro cuts would be disasterous for us.

One factor allowing the bridge to be so clear this morning is the 17,000 or so folks who have switched from driving to transit over the last year, many on west seattle/downtown routes. That could change for the worse if we don’t do something about metro’s upcoming funding shortage:

That would likely be for NEXT (not this) weekend’s I-5 Spokane Street Bridge Repair closures – after a couple weekends with no closures, which were preceded by Beacon Hill-only closure weekends, there will be some effects next weekend coming off the West Seattle Bridge. The eastbound Spokane Street Viaduct will be closed past the 4th Avenue S. exit, which is where everyone will have to get off. Note that since it’s President’s Day Weekend, the closure is scheduled to last till TUESDAY morning (2/19).

Via the latter “lookahead,” we also note President’s Day Weekend appears to have another Delridge paving-project closure, Delridge/Trenton. Verifying that with SDOT. – TR

Did anyone see the upcoming closure sign on the ramp from eastbound bridge to I5? I saw the sign but could not read the closure dates and times.

I am so thankful to work and live in WS just from looking at that traffic cam of the bridge.
