I read through the FAQs and charcoal grilling is also verboten though gas-grilling is OK. Not that I wanted to, but to be told I can’t is more frustrating, though I subscribe to the PSCAA notices for just this reason.

If it’s not working, I don’t think enforcers – if any – would push it. They’re just trying to discourage unnecessary fires. I am not sure what kind of enforcement … obviously I’m not the authorities and I could be extremely wrong, but this usually is a “hey everybody, just behave on behalf of your fellow humans” type of alert. This may be a silly question, but my heater is on the fritz (we’ve been waiting for our home warranty to step up and replace it) and we’re relying on our fireplace along with a few space heaters to heat our home right now.

I’m hoping that we’re okay to have a fire this evening without getting fined. It is freezing in here.
