Yep, I took the picture and as WSB says it's a swimmer. He had a camera with him and was taking pics of the woman on the paddleboard. He'd swim for a bit then stop and take some pictures. They were in the water maybe 10 or 15 minutes. He had a wetsuit on, but she did not - if she had fallen in it would have been a very quick swim back to the shore. They stayed close to the shore so it wasn't really a problem.

Two weekends ago I was jogging along Harbor avenue/Alki and saw two sets of wet foot prints coming out of the water and heading back the way I came. A friend of mine who was jogging the other way saw a man an a woman sitting in a car with their bathing suits on with wet tracks leading to the car - he said they looked quite cold! Maybe these were the folks who do it every day.

Sorry, I didn't have time to upload the large version so it could be seen more clearly. Yes, it's a swimmer's arm. Don't know if it's the same guy who's been seen in the Alki area saying he's taken a swim in the sound x days in a row, though. Although I shiver at the thought of multiple cold-water swimmers out there ...

The arm of a swimmer doing the backstroke? (cannot imagine how cold, even in a wet suit...) K, now I NEED to know!

Lovely pic, but what is that coming out of the water? Looks almost like a fish tail, but the way it's breaking the current makes me think it's more likely just a deadhead or large stick? Anyone?

Thats a nice pic. But for the life of me, I can't figure out what that is in water moving ahead of the paddle boarder there. Anyone know or have a guess?
