West Seattle Crime Watch: Stolen-vehicle alert

Just out of the WSB inbox:

My friend’s car, in my possession, was stolen from in front of my house in Highland Park, 7000 block of 13TH AVE SW (Between HOLDEN & KENYON) last night.

The car is a 1993 Honda Accord, teal/light green, license AAX 1269. The back bumper is covered with bluegrass/music stickers. It was last seen by a neighbor in front of the house at 10:30 PM 1/4. Wasn’t noted missing until 4:00 PM today 1/5.

As we always note, many stolen vehicles are found within a relatively short distance – so if it happens to you, after you’ve notified police, let us know too so that we can also get the word out.

Not sure how much it matters, but 7000 is pretty far North of Holden, not between Holden and Kenyon. Really kind of totally different neighborhoods.

I’m checking to see which is accurate, but in the meantime, wherever you are, keep an eye out for the car. Just got a note from someone saying that another stolen car noted here recently has been found – it was spotted in an alley, looking out of place, and they checked WSB & saw it reported. (We have a followup question out on that too – when we hear back WHICH stolen vehicle, we’ll mention it in another WSCW roundup) – TR

It’s a typo, it should be the 7700 block (I live three streets over).

This is my next door neighbors’ home that had the misfortune of having car stolen. Unbelievable that these cowardly thieves have no regard for us honest, hard working folk. I have spoken to many of the wonderful neighbors on our block & were on alert. So, words for the thieves: please stop stealing from us! We’re watching our neighborhood closely & you will get caught. Try working hard every day to save up for things you desire & imagine someone stealing it from you.

Sorry, comment time is over.
