West Seattle Crime Watch: Stolen car crashes in White Center, 1 arrested
January 26, 2013 at 8:23 pm | In West Seattle news, West Seattle police, White Center | 18 Comments
Police say they started trying to pull over that car in West Seattle after discovering it was stolen – but it didn’t stop until it crashed into a pole outside the White Center Taco Time at 16th and 102nd. That’s all we know so far – we saw one person being arrested at the scene; scanner traffic suggested at least one other person had fled and was being sought. More info as we get it.

I feel so bad for the people who lost their car :(
Comment by JanS — 9:49 pm January 26, 2013 #
Me too. I can’t quite tell the make … even though I looked at and photographed it from two angles … to see if it matches anything on @getyourcarback for the past couple days. (We have a side angle on White Center Now atop http://whitecenternow.com/ – if anybody is an expert car identifier …)

Anytime is taco time, what a rash of stupid crime lately
Comment by les — 10:49 pm January 26, 2013 #
Looks like a honda accord mid-late 90′s is my guess.
Comment by Rachel — 11:12 pm January 26, 2013 #
Geez, Whitecenter never seems to get a break.
Comment by Rara — 11:20 pm January 26, 2013 #
I feel that there has been more crime since they legalized marijuana and more liquor every were, people that have the addiction are going crazy wanting more, its scary out there
Comment by LMA — 9:40 am January 27, 2013 #
Could have been confusion on where the drive through was located? Just kidding. Feel bad for the car owner and what they are dealing with now given the extensive damage to the car.
Yea, and I agree, Whitecenter never does get a break…

Rachel is correct, 1994-1997 Honda Accord sedan, almost definitely.

LMA- better not leave the house. I really appreciate the WSB for posting what’s going on in the hood good or bad. I feel people are being overly paranoid now though and are thinking our hood is going to hell. We have never had a source like the blog that reports exclusively on crime in WS so though it may look all gloom and doom, just remember we have it good. The world is a scary place at this moment but we should be proud of where we live and take the necessary steps to keep our hood a beautiful place to live.

Thank you WSB. Though you may delete a lot of my comments :) you provide a great service to our community and I highly respect the work you do. The video I watched a couple days ago with the officer showing people how to protect their house was incredibly helpful and I would have never found it without you. Thank you

These kinds of things happen all over West Seattle.
It just always sounds worse and more fearful when you can say, “It happened in White Center!” and if you throw in “Rat City” you can add disgust too! People need to be reminded how WC got the name Rat City..it wasn’t from rats nor despicable people…which may I remind again are every where.
I enjoy WC with its diversity. And I watch my back no matter where I am!

CS – See the coverage of the West Seattle Block Watch Captains’ Network meeting from last week – it’s linked in the BIG STORIES list on the sidebar, with the “Get security-cam savvy” headline. Since it was brought up at the meeting, we pulled up the clip again and embedded it in the story. – TR
