Don’t worry people! The goverment will keep you safe at all times including in your homes, and your children will be protected in public libraries. You should all turn in your guns and TRUST. The car jacker surely would have turned in his gun and simply asked you politley for your keys and wallet. All you need it trust.

My husband and I both heard 8 gun shots last night and phoned the police. It really frightened us, we live on Raymond and California. Did anyone else hear the shots??

More details about the truck from the victim: Grey truck, No canopy, DIY black pin striping on the sides, “American Prospector” brand tires, Stick shift (yes, I guess criminals can drive stick), and Very good condition… 1993 being the boxy style larger ford truck.

Please contact SPD in reference to the armed robbery if you spot it. Thank you and remember to be extra careful if you park on the street late at night.

It seems a bit odd that there was a commerical burglary alarm at 2:20 AM on Delridge, and at 2:29 AM was the disturbance that others say they reported a gun shot. Then the armed robbery of the truck at just before 4:00 AM, on Nevada St.

This is how Seattle can say there is less crime now and it is getting better. It is all in how they categorize their calls as in this case. It goes down as a disturbance and not a shooting or shots being fired. It helps make the statistics read the way they want. Very common these days in any business. Never believe one source of info, aways do your own research you might be suprised.

I noticed a silver extended cab pickup at 14th & Holly this morning, next to the greenbelt. It had a black canopy though, which was not mentioned. When I saw this, I was going out (somewhat hesitantly) to get the make and plate, but the truck was gone.

Nothing on record doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, but it does mean I have no way to follow up on it. There are some reports that don’t make it to the map/system, including some domestic-violence cases, but the “incident response” is logged only as “disturbance” – you can see it on the map (mouse over the icon that looks like two dialogue balloons):

That map records 911 calls … then the tab above it for “police reports” shows ones for which reports were filed.

There was one shot fired. Police told me about 6 others reported it as well. They found no victim, but there was indeed a shot fired and items left all over the middle of the street when the vehicle drove away. I guess if the police don’t see it, it never happened.
