As cute as he is I’m afraid it could end ugly for the otter living in this location. Either run over- attacked by a dog – or apparently the smell where they live can be repulsive. I think he should be relocated to a little less urbanized environment.

It’s rather entertaining that this particular river otter uses the crosswalk. I have seen him cross the street twice, both times in the crosswalk. He appears to walk rather purposefully but not in any particular rush to the beach and then back home to a nearby cottage. I was so pleasantly surprised to see him twice in three days, that I didn’t think to snap a photo with my iphone5, lol. I love Alki!

nothing makes me smile like encountering an otter when I’m walking my dog on Alki. My wife didn’t believe me the first time I came home and told her that one had just crossed my path.
