I was told by a 3rd watch/shift officer @5:30 a man was trying to pull into the precinct lot, when a officer coming out noticed he wasn’t rolling down his window to use the key pad(for entry). He then in passing saw the perp in van had a handgun right under his chin, as if he was gonna kill himself. They have dealt with him before on depression/mental health issues. Glad it was swiftly taken care of!

I’ve always felt Delridge was too dangerous a location for a police station.

From the description, this sounds like “suicide by cop”. Glad it was resolved peacefully.

From the scanner traffic we heard at the time – which was really intense, fast orders including bringing out the “long guns” – the concern seemed to be that he would attack someone or try to storm the precinct.
