West Seattle weather: Early morning snow sightings

1:49 AM: First snow sightings – Westwood, Sunrise Heights, Highland Park. Forecast still does not suggest anything major, though.

6:12 AM: Nothing on the ground where we are. And Seattle is still in the (small) “snow shadow” zone on the National Weather Service map you can see here – meaning no alerts/advisories/warnings right now.

Almost here folks, Enjoy it while it lasts, I would expect about an inch maybe 2 before it ends.

Does anyone know the road condition of Highland hill?

People are going up and down Highland Park hill at normal speeds.

Bottom line seems to be, Seattle indeed is in the “snow shadow,” so we’re expecting a relatively normal commute, and have launched the usual daily transit/traffic-tracking story – here: https://westseattleblog.com/?p=133777

Not even really winter yet and we almost had some rare Seattle SNOW! Love it! Hope there is enough for a Snowman and some sledding soon!

Sorry, comment time is over.
