Thank you, thank you so much!!! To all that helped our family dog of 12 years, Jake is his name by the way. Yes the firemen are right he is an A.T.pit bull. Jake has always been loved by many because of his kind nature. It was very unusual of him to wounder off from home in the Admiral way area, however he is getting up there in age. He does have a problem in his right eye from his fall. he will be seen at the Lien animal clinic tomorrow. A family friend has offered some help. If you would like to help Jake out too, please contact Lien Animal Clinic in West Seattle.

Honestly, a dog is a dog to me, no matter what breed. A passer by may indeed identify this as a pitty of some sort. Doesn’t matter what it REALLY is – anything that looks pit like has a bad rap.

@ west coast deb, are we sure this little guy is all pit bull? The photo is a little distorted, but my guess would be there’s some shar pei DNA in his make up. Eye shape is rounder than one would expect in a pit, and the flews are more generous.
Whatever, it’s good he is safely back home, and may the bystanders and firefighters all receive extra goodies in their Christmas stockings!
