I remember when my mother told me Stanta was not real. I guess I was about 10 or so and her explanation was that the “spirit” of Santa came to live inside people so they would give each other happiness. I kept thinking about the huge rabbit [we lived in the country] I had seen one pre-dawn Easter morning though saying to my self how can that be true when I have actually seen the Easter bunny. LOL
Christmas aka Saturnalia is a festival of light leading to the winter solstice, with the abundant presence of candles symbolizing the quest for knowledge and truth.
Saturnalia has left its traces and found its parallels in great numbers of medieval and modern customs, occurring about the time of the winter solstice.
