West Seattle wildlife: New Alki raft for resting

A new resting place for sealife and birds off Alki! A new raft has just been added to the offshore lineup, announces Jason Attaman: “It was secured to our buoy (Sunday) night. This is located at the 3000 block of Alki Avenue. It was launched specifically as a seal and other wildlife platform for all to enjoy.”

Wonderful to see. I can imagine a little archipelago of these rafts along Beach Drive and Alki Avenue for the benefit of sea birds, seals, and otters. Of course, the first good storm will uproot them and send them crashing along the beaches…

These platforms are truly “life rafts” for the seal pups – thanks so much, Jason, for giving them safe haven to rest!

Yay! We built this..if anyone would like one built please call us at 206-683-6832.
Petert, don’t worry, the dock is fully secured by two well planned out systems to the anchored buoy and isn’t going anywhere in the storms.

Michael is so talented she does awesome work. She even does plumbing and kitchen remodels. She just fixed my leak in the kitchen and is fixing the sub floor cabinets.etc.

Sorry, comment time is over.
