There was work at the intersection already but apparently repairs following the line-cut this morning have led to buses not being allowed through. I added it to the daily traffic/transit lineup but need to add it here.

at 3:15pm i received the first email from Metro notifying riders about possible delays due to this gas leak (http://content.govdelivery.com/bulletins/gd/WAKCDOT-5b775b) — that is, FOUR HOURS after WS Blog reported it at 11:16am.

based on previous notifications like this from Metro, i fully expect to get an email in the next few minutes saying the issue has been resolved – that’s usually how they do it.

The road was closed to through traffic at 3:00. They were only letting cars through that are trying to get home in that area or in my case pick up my son from Little Pilgrim Preschool. I heard one of the workers tell the driver of the C RR that he was going to be the last bus they were going to let through. I would still avoid Barton for awhile.

Is this the reason for the chopper circling over 42nd/Genessee area? This seems a little to far north from the gas leak but it keeps circling.
