West Seattle Crime Watch: Another stolen car’s been found

We have a few more West Seattle Crime Watch items to share later tonight but here’s a quick bit of good news for starters. You might remember the reader report earlier this week from Rebecca, whose car was stolen just days after she moved to West Seattle. It’s been found:

The car was found today 5 miles from the house, in Burien! Absolutely no damage, only some CD’s taken. They didn’t take the iPhone charger (?).

That isn’t as puzzling as it might seem – most cars are taken, SPD says, as “temporary transportation for common criminals.”

They did not take the charger because they have dozens of them already. Glad to hear you got your car back.

They didn’t take the charger because they haven’t stolen an iPhone yet :) Glad you got your car back.

They did not take the charger because it did not fit their new iphone 5.

New? I think you mean their newly stolen iPhone 5.

Hahaha thanks everyone! Much appreciated. And yup, I have an iPhone 4 so that must be why they didn’t want the charger :-D

Queenie, we looked for a house for three months everywhere from Renton to Lynwood, we were that flexible. No where in those three months did we ever find a neighborhood that had a fraction of the community feel this one did. When we were looking at this house no less than four neighbors came out to introduce themselves and ask if we were looking to buy, wanted to know all about us, etc. The car incident rattled us a bit, but the responses we have been getting on this blog have confirmed everything we suspected about this area: it’s a fabulous, community-oriented place to live.

That’s another great thing about the greater West Seattle / White Center neighborhood – we’ve got the very best neighborhood blog! High integrity, timely, relevant, broad reporting.
