Citywide weekend-traffic alert, starring 2 big West Seattle events

SDOT is out early with this weekend’s citywide traffic alert – and two of the big events are right here on the peninsula, West Seattle Summer Fest (with road closures starting 6 pm tomorrow) Friday-Sunday and the Seafair Pirates’ Landing on Saturday. Read on for the full list:

The Seafair Pirates will invade Alki on Saturday, reminding us that Seattle’s annual
summer Seafair events have begun. Travelers in Seattle this weekend may want to plan their trips taking into consideration the congestion expected due to community festivities in West Seattle, Wallingford, Madison Park, Queen Anne, Ballard, and the International District. No home games for the Mariners or the Sounders are scheduled.

SDOT encourages everyone to leave their cars at home whenever possible and take public transit, rail, bike or walk for a more enjoyable, healthful, and environmentally sustainable trip.
