2 notes this morning with more evidence of West Seattleites’ generosity, plus a chance to help out with an upcoming event:
NUCOR ‘TOUR FOR THE CURE’ FULLY BOOKED: As announced here yesterday, Nucor’s Relay for Life-West Seattle team is raising money by offering three plant tours on June 4th. This morning, Nucor’s Tricia Sweat sends word they have already booked all the spaces! (The cancer-fighting Relay, with WSB among the co-sponsors this year, is June 10-11.)
FAUNTLEROY FALL FESTIVAL FUNDRAISER UPDATE: Tuesday night’s Endolyne Joe’s dinner/raffle fundraiser brought in more than $2,000 (a third of the festival’s budget), according to Judy Pickens – $1,189 from restaurant proceeds, and $975 for four raffle baskets – $975. She adds, “Many thanks to everyone at Endolyne Joe’s, all donors to the raffle baskets, and the community volunteers who invested many hours for the love of the Fauntleroy Fall Festival (Oct. 16)!”
ATTENTION, WEST SEATTLE BUSINESSES – ALKI ART FAIR NEEDS SPONSORS: As we’ve reported, the fair is on, even though Alki Community Center‘s staff and operations have been curtailed by city budget cuts – the Advisory Council and the fair’s Organizing Committee are moving forward, and the fair is set for July 23 and 24. However, community support is needed in a BIG way, and they are calling now for sponsors. Read on for the full announcement:
The Alki Advisory Council and the Alki Art Fair Organizing Committee are proud to present the 14th annual Alki Art Fair on July 23 and 24, 2011.
In previous years, the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation (Parks and Rec) sponsored this event, thus covered the costs of the renting the beach and Bathhouse, staff time, and advertising. Parks and Rec funding for the 2011 Alki Art Fair was completely eliminated because of drastic budget cuts within Parks and Rec. The Alki Advisory Council and Alki Art Fair Committee must cover all the costs this year. We are therefore asking for sponsors and donations to help cover the operating costs to put on this wonderful summer event.
The unique venue at Alki Beach Park fair draws over 4,000 visitors each year to enjoy fine arts and crafts produced by over 60 local artists along with two days of live music performances and free children’s art activities. In addition, this year the fair will be celebrating the centennial of the Alki Bathhouse with exhibits and activities provided by the Southwest Seattle Historical Society/Log House Museum.
All of our promotional materials (art fair poster, print ads, the traditional T-shirt) as well as signage on the day of the fair will identify sponsors based on the level of monetary support. Sponsors at $2,500 and above will be provided booth space to display and hand out their own marketing materials.
• Direct sponsor ($15,000): Level 1 positioning on all Art Fair promotional materials and signage specifying “presented by.”
• Platinum sponsor ($5,000): Level 2 positioning on all Art Fair promotional materials and signage.
• Music Stage sponsor ($3,000): Level 3 positioning on all Art Fair promotional materials and music stage banner.
• Gold sponsor ($2,500): Level 4 positioning on art fair poster and the T-shirt.
• Silver sponsor ($1,000): Level 5 positioning on art fair poster and the T-shirt.
• Bronze sponsor ($500): Level 6 positioning on the art fair poster.
