Meander’s owner and chef Miranda Krone is expanding her tiny, but increasingly popular, breakfast/lunch cafĂ© into the vacant former law office next door.
“Waits (for a seat) are getting longer even on Tuesdays and Wednesdays!” said Miranda, who started considering expansion plans shortly after opening Meander’s three months ago (WSB coverage here) in the former Jade West CafĂ© space at 6032 California SW.
Her plan is to cut an eight-foot doorway in the wall separating the two spaces so that it will “feel like a dining room off of the kitchen.” The additional space will add 26 chairs to the current nine stools and one table in the café.
Books are another passion of Miranda’s and with the expansion, she’s planning to install bookshelves along the walls and sell used books.
While the permitting process will take a while, she says “the drawings have been submitted!” and she’s hoping to get started sometime this summer.
P.S. Meander’s is now on Facebook – “like” the page here.
