I am stunned, what a loss for our community. I wasn’t close with Tony or his family but they always made me feel welcome when I went to buy my produce and christmas tree. I remember Tony telling me how delicious these grapes were that I was buying, and he said I would be back the next day for more. Sure enough I demolished the first bag and was back the next day for more. To the family, I am very sorry for your loss.

    RIP Tony

I don’t know Tony well, but met him many times while buying produce and Christmas trees on 35th and Barton… he was always wonderfully friendly to my family and a wonderful business to have in our neighborhood. My condolences to his family.

I wish someone would write and tell all about Tony’s story on the WSB. I believe he had a place in Pike Market before landing at 35th and Barton. He and his Dean Martin will be with me forever.

We were shocked to hear of Tony’s death and at such a young age. We’ve been enthusiastic customers of Tony’s Market ever since he moved from Burien to West Seattle. His relationship with his customers reminded us of how business was done long ago in the 1950’s when merchants and customers were on a first name basis and truly cared about one another. We’ll miss you, Tony!
